About Who put this ?
Who put this ? comes from a party habit: everyone takes turns on the speaker, and someone always asks “wait, who put this on?”. The game turns that question into a game: everyone adds songs in secret, they play shuffled, and everybody votes to guess who picked what.
Who is behind the site
The site is designed and built by Maxime Galera, an independent UX/UI designer. It's a personal project, made in spare time and tested at real parties with friends: most features (voting to skip a song, themes, TV mode, the waiting room games) came from players' feedback during those games.
What you'll find here
- The game: free, no sign-up, no app. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers.
- Practical guides for music-based parties: running a music quiz, playing remotely, music party games, and theme ideas.
How the game works
Players' phones connect directly to the host's device (peer-to-peer), with no game server in between. Songs are played with the official YouTube player: the site never stores or streams audio files. No game data (names, chosen songs, scores) is kept once the room closes. Details are in the privacy policy.
How the guides are written
Articles are based on parties actually organised and games actually played. They're reviewed and updated when the game changes or when a reader reports a mistake. Links to other games or services are never sponsored.
How the site is funded
The game costs players nothing. Discreet ads on article pages and the home page help cover hosting, the domain name and development time. There are never ads while a song is playing or during a game.
